Illustrator 10 Photoshop 7

A jpg opened in ps 7 & illustrator 10 looks completely different. The colors in illustrator are deeper. In ps, they are kind of faded out (almost as if they had white layer over them.) The files were both in cmyk mode n all that. Can anyone shed light on this?

Further, should I layout both biz crds & stationery in illustrator to make sure the colors are the same in the final print?

(not to experience with going to print)

Thanks anyway. Figure it out. just had to use the same color setup for both programs.
