Illegal operation in word97 mailmerge

I have a word97 file with macro written for mailmerge purpose. Whenever I close the file after finish up the mailmerge process, I will get this system error "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down", and word ungracefully shut down. And I noticed that word isn't being closed properly because when i do a Ctrl-Alt-Del, I can see the word Winword in the Close Program box. I tried this in my colleuge PCs, and the same thing happened. Is this a bug in Word97? Any update to fix this?
Btw, the Word97 is running on Win95.

There is no problem with the manual mailmerge.

Then you'd better paste your code. It's obviously the culprit.
