I have contacted JASC support and they have given many ways to help, but Im still getting this illegal error and program must close message. Im not just wondering if it something with computer itself and not with JASC program.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am using Windows 98 SE

Please if you need any information contact me and I'll try my best to get you the information that you need

Again Thank you very much

Hola,Pepsi Lady!

My previous posts near yours show you I have such empathy for you!

I do hope I can help. At least give you sympathy and proof problems can be solved with imagination and determination!

My PSP 7 was making me crazy as my posts recount - but I used a great registry cleaner AND a "DLL HELP" device, and found missing files and old, corrupted files and duplicates.
PSP 7 is healthy again!
I also use W98.
I am a graphic artist and teacher.
I too followed advice, but not from JASC or COREL - they do not acknowledge PSP 7.
I got this idea to compare files of PSP 7,PSP 8,PSP9 - I have all.
And things looked ODD.
So,I do the registry cleaner/DLL finder etc, and it works!

Excluding my folders, total "guts" of PSP 9 is: 116, from ADINT to Xerces.
I see the file making you crazy is:
MFC71.DLL

MY puter info is this:
C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 9
Application Extension
Product Name:Microsoft® Visual Studio .NET
File Version:7.10.3077.0
Decription:MFCDLL Shared Library - Retail Version
Also two other drivers you should see:
msvcp71.dll
msvcr.dll
In SYSTEM32,Folder:DRIVERS, there is a file MSDV.SYS - is a MICROSOFT innvention too. What isn't, I wonder?

ALL must be in "archive" mode.
Is funny, but I learned that the tiny archive or read only commands make huge differences.
AND sometimes when we download tubes or frames etc, if they are READ ONLY files, is not good!
So check that in you Windows Explorer!

Beyond what I did, you can check BELARC to see if your Microsoft DLLs needs patches.
This can happen too.

I care about this for you, please let us know how it turns out and what succeeded.
My best wishes, may you have the same good luck I did!
