Hi Folks,

I am having issues with one of my websites hanging up occasionally - sometimes once a week - sometimes several times a day. Obviously I need to find the source of the problem.

I have downloaded the IIS resource kit tools and IISState seems to be the most likely tool. Do I just kick this off while the website is running. What will happen once the website hangs. Usually to "unhang" I just have to recycle the pool.

I basically need to know how I can best use IISState or some other tool to find out what is causing my website to hang. Also there are three w3p.exe processes running - how do I know which one relates to the website that is hanging?

Have you checked all the event logs to see if there are any clues for you in there?

Thanks for the suggestion but there were no clues in there.

I actually downloaded IIS Debug Diagnostics tool and set up a hang rule to dump the application pool and this highlighted an issue with MS Access on Windows Server 2003.

Have upgraded to Window Server 2003 SP1 as per the suggestion and it hasn't hung since - jury is still out.
