Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to hide printers in IIS? We have a heavily used print server (26 printers, one print server) and I have just set up IIS IP Printing to allow students at our school the ability to print to our Library printers over the web. Is there a way to lock this down so that if the students tried to browse to the printers over the web by typing only the Library printers would display?

Thanks in advance,
Zoey

Don't know if you can stop the browsing of these printers (if they are shared resources). Although you can change the security of your shared printers to not allow students access to them.

That's what I thought.

Thanks for the reply

Another thought Zoey would be to add $ sign in front of the shared printer name, but this would hide it from everyone, so unless they actually knew it existed.. they wouldn't see it.
