Someone knows the answer to this.
Hardware=2 windows NT4.0 servers. 1web, 1 sql.
I have a virtual directory on the webserver that points to the sql server. Both the web and the sql server have a local user called user1, and both have the same password. If I go to directory\test.asp it will work the first time, after that it asks me for my username and password. If I reset the permissions on the sql server it will work 1 more time. I put a gif, and a html page on the sql share and can hit them as many times as I want. What could this be???

Thanks
.

If I am right the problem is getting to the SQL Server database. Remember the Web Server is using IUSR_machinename when calling the database. If you are using integrated security thenn you have to set up a user account on the SQL Server database that you are trying to access. The best way is to not use integrated security and set up a couple of accounts -. one generic and one admin and then poass the correct usernames and passwords in the connection string.
