I have a intranet set loaded onto our webserver which requires access to an MDB on another server. The site is also set to Windows Authentication only.
When trying to access the site, an error is generated:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '<full path of mdb>'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
The MDB is not in use. I've checked with Sysinternals File Monitor and the process accessing it is w3wp.exe runnning under NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK; the result is Access Denied, and the 'Other' column shows my domain user account. Both users mentioned have permissions over the mdb and it's parent folder.
I re-enabled anonymous access and the connection to the database was fine (though the site then failed because it hadn't picked up the user!) so connection is ok.
Any ideas what's going wrong?!
Thanks
Paul
