iis will only serve root default page...no other pages load

Hello...

My we server just did something odd.

i have had a site running on IIS on win2000 for 3 years with no problems.

Now today, I can only access the index page at the root level... If I click on any other links I get a 404 page not found error....

I have re-created a new web server instance and the same thing happens...

i have moved the files to t different physical location and created a new webserever instance form scratch and the same thing happens.

Any ideas why only the index page will load and all other pages will get a 404 page not found????

DID you load any virus on the server..on any patches
