Im am running a web server from my pc using ms IIS. I am beheind a linksys router, and understand the concept of prot forwarding on port 80 to link my pub ip to the private one. I had it working b4 with a d-link router, but have switched and cant get it working again. I think my settings in the linksys manager are off. any suggestions?

It helps to give the iis server machine a static IP address rather than a DHCP assigned one.

Enter the router setup program, Advanced, Port Forwarding, and make the asssigment to the static IP you have the iis server.

If you have some early firmware versions of the router, a soft reset of the router will be required to make the port forward active.
