Hi all, great forum here!

I am new at running servers and have a problem that nobody has been able to solve. I am running modded Snitz forums, ASP based. These have been customized by a few different people and come in a package ready (almost) for install. The features work good except for one. New members can register, log in, post, place smileys and what not in the posts, private messaging works, etc so the data base (access)is definately being written to. The trouble is with the photo album section. I have installed 2 forums by one author and one by another and they all have the same trouble. In addition, I have tried some other versions of stand alone photo albums with no luck.

I had one of these forums on a paid host and it worked just fine. I was able to add users to the photo system and one member uploaded 6 photos. These could be viewed and managed with no trouble. After having troubles with downtime with all the paid hosts I tried, I decided to set up my own server. It is a new 600sc running 2000 server IIS 5 on cable. All the html, java, etc. works fine and ASP does too except for the photo albums.

In the Snitz versions, when a user is given a photo album to use, the info is placed in the db with no trouble. Then a folder is supposed to be created with the user name on it. This is not happening. I transferred the working forum from the paid host to my server. The user that had uploaded the pictures still has the info in there but when trying to view the album, the browser stalls about midway. When accesing the db, the .ldb shows up the way that it should, but it never goes away when in view photo album mode. All asp stops working in that browser session as well. If you close the browser and go back, it all works again except for the photos of course. In the db folder, the .ldb is still there. It cannot be deleted unless I restart IIS even after hours!. It has been said that deleting the .ldb will corrupt the db so I installed a copy of the db after deleting the .ldb.

I have been through all the permission suggestions. I have given the photo folder full privledges as well as the db. I read in a microsoft release that the WINNT/TEMP folder needed to have permissions raised or it would cause this. I raised those permissions as well.

The folks at Snitz swear that this ap works fine on thousands of other machines and it must be in my IIS setup. A friend of mine that is well versed in ASP is checking out the code, and his paid host, and his personal server will not run the photo thing either! Same situation.

I have ran out of things to try and have been working on this now for a coulpe of weeks. If anyone here has an idea, that would be great!!!!

Thanks for your time )

I am running my self a Win2k IIS internet server and I having the same problems.... have you fing any work around for that issue ?

Thanks!

Actually I did find the trouble with my system. I had Norton Anti Virus running and script blocking was enabled. Once I disabled the script blocking feature in Norton the rest started working as it should. Hope this helps!

By the way, make sure you use the IIS lockdown tool!!!
