Hi,

Until recently, my IIS / Win XP Pro was working just fine, crunching all my ASP pages as it was supposed to.

But - recently, I decided to try and install EasyPHP on my PC. EasyPHP works, but now IIS stopped displaying my pages?! When I try to connect to localhost or try to view an ASP-page, I get an internal server error - before re-installing IIS, it said something about not being able to create object (in iisstart.asp). Now - after re-installing IIS, I get a plain 'the page cannot be displayed' error.

Any suggestions as to what I can do? I'm getting pretty desperate after searching the net for hours for some kind of hint - without luck : (

Thanks in advance,

Well as I'm getting desperate - a bit more info (I'm only a few hours away from changing to PHP and quitting ASP for good ...):

What localhost tells me, is that localstart.asp cannot assign the requested class (line 46 in localstart.asp).

I've inspected the system log, and the only errors I can find are about IIS unexpectedly closing down.

As possible solutions, I've tried re-installing IIS; didn't do any good. The I tried resetting IIS via the 'iisreset' command. Didn't work either.

Does anyone have the slightest clue about what can get my asp-pages up and running again locally?

- Or alternatively, does anyone know of a suitable alternative to IIS in the web-server world? I searched google, but only found servers that can run php, pearl etc.?

Cheers,
