I have a server, servera, in a domain, mydomain, and a virtual directory, myvd, set up for Windows Integrated Authentication only. If I goto and I get logged in or the windows login popup, but if I use a domain name, pointing at the same server I only get the windows login prompt three times then get an unauthorised error, anyone have any ideas what could be the cause ?

Are you using
mydomain\username
for the username field or just
username?

Are you trying to do this internally only or over the internet?

am doing this internally and was hoping to be able to get the domain the users are in to allow authentication with the domain the website is using.

I see. Well if the website is in a different domain than the users, and you don't have a 2-way domain trust set-up between the 2 domains, that's going to be a problem.

You'll want to set-up a 2-way domain trust which will allow you to create permissions in a way on your web server that gives access permissions to members of a domain that is different from your web server.

Hope this helps.
