Hello,
Ok, I know this sounds really simple because relaying is something that can easily be turned on or off but I am unable to get the correct sequence here to make it work. My problem is that we have written a web applicaiton that allows sending alerts when a user sets up an alert filter in a database table. We have a middle tier applicaition that will send an email alert through the SMTP service on the IIS box the application resides on. However, the original programmer hard-coded the FROM: admin@vtilities.com in the application and the actual domain the servers reside in is not that domain. I have succesffuly sent emails through the SMTP service using Outlook Express and setting the FROM email to admin@ActualDomainName.com and it worked, but if I change it to admin@vtilities.com it fails every time and says sender rejected. I have tried all kids of settings and I can't get it to work. Can someone please give me some information on how to correct this problem.
Thanks for any help in this matter,
jcfrasco
