Hi all,

We've got a server which is simply refusing external connections to Outlook Web Access.

When I try to go to it just times out after a few seconds.

Port 443 is definatly open on the firewall.

Internally it works fine.

Using with port 443 as the query it says that it has been refused access.

I've tried a server reboot, I've tried running the 'Connect to the Internet' wizard again - but nothing is fixing this.

Any ideas what is causing the block?

Thanks.

In the Default Web Site properties there is a section in Security that controls which subnets are allowed to connect to the server. It's possible that something is wrong there and it's blocking any external access.

This was a strange one and a new one on us...

The problem was their router, which is a Draytek 2830.

We configured the router to use an external non standard port for HTTP access to it so we can easily manage it over the Internet.

It seems though that with this option on, it blocks HTTPS traffic.

As soon as we removed this setting, OWA starting working again with no problems.
