hiya all, IIS newbie here. ive got iis set up on win2k3 and i am running a website on the default page. my question is is it possible to run multiple sites on port 80, on one ip using IIS?

basically i need to add 2 sites with the minimum down time possible. thanks all.

Absolutely! Use host headers for each site, and you can run as many sites as you like on one IIS server.

I also have 2 domain names i wish to run frm one single ip address. I have followed the steps using the host header names but to no avail, my original site keeps coming up when i go to the second domain. Is there a trick that I am overlooking? I am operating IIS 5 and the domain is registered with network solutions.

Thanks!
Scott

Post the following outputs from your IIS server for analysis:

C:\Inetpub\AdminScripts\adsutil.vbs enum /p w3svc

Then, run the following command for each w3svc with a /# after it:

C:\Inetpub\AdminScripts\adsutil.vbs get w3svc/1/serverbindings

C:\Inetpub\AdminScripts\adsutil.vbs get w3svc/2/serverbindings

etc.
