Hi,

Just got a new PC with XP Pro and installed IIS 5.1. Had a problem initially with the ports because I had apache installed. Tried using port 8080 but then could not start and stop IIS...kept getting the 0x8ffe2740 error every time I tried to stop and then restart. Had to reboot to get it to start. I was unable to access pages via localhost either.

So, I removed apache and set the port back to 80. Now I can start and stop IIS. Problem is I still cannot access the IIS help page via or via my IP address. I see the virtual directory ok, but cannot access it from IE.

What am I doing wrong?
