IIS on W7

How do I get IIS on W7 to work? It serves pages locally to itself but no other machine on the network can see it.

I've done what I normally do on W2K and WXP

1) Install IIS on machine, say fred
2) Reboot (not really necessary)
3)

on IE

It fails on step 3. This works on W2K and WXP. Is an extra step required for W7?

Can the other machines Ping, and be Pinged, from and to Windows 7? Is there any Firewall or other security programs interfering with connections?

I agree with Linney, check that the connections to the Win 7 machine aren't being blocked by a firewall specifically port 80.

Also check if you can access via the IP address instead of the name. The other machine may have trouble resolving the name.

It is not the firewall since I can access the machine externally. I'll have a play with the security settings on the last bit of the netomatix article. Probably one of them is blocking.

I'll have a look at the security settings listed in the last part of the netomatix article. May be something there.

I can ping both ways and see filestores both ways. I'll check if port 80 is being blocked. Have to wait till Monday as it is a work machine.
