Hi folks,
I'm completely new to IIS. I am load testing our Cold Fusion application and when the load is increased beyind X virtual users I start seeing lots of 500 and 503 errors. None of the application servers are being overloaded - cpu % very rarely spikes over 30% on the cold fusion server. I want to trace what is causing the problem and tweak some settings to prevent the 503 errors. When I look in the IIS log I see nothing very helpful, pretty much something like this:
2004-11-04 21:43:58 10.20.11.208 - 10.20.11.230 80 POST /sp6122test1/login/validate.cfm - 503 Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+6.0;+Windows+NT+5.0)
Where can I look to find out more information and try and figure out what configuration changes I can make to prevebt the 503 errors? I'm not looking for people to tell me what is wrong, I just need a nudge in the right direction. If that means a link to a great online reference or a book recommendation that's great too.
Right now I am using IIS 5.0 but our production servers are IIS 6.0. I am running on Windows 2000 SP4 on a twin Xeon 2.8GHz machine with 3Gb RAM.
Cheers, Max
