Hi,

Can someone explain to me what i'm doing with this link...

I've installed the IIS 6.0 resource tools.

I'm trying to change the CGI Timeout as a script requires longer to process, but I can't understand what i'm doing and don't want to screw things up.

Can someone help?

thanks,

hmm, well I've found in the IIS Metabase Explorer..

Properties->Defaults

where there is an entry for CGITimeout with a value of 300

So I enbaled 'edit metabase file while IIS is running' , stopped and started IIS

Then I edited the value.

Then restarted the IIS and the value keeps changing back to 300.

Also I don't really want to change the timeout for the entire server but just a specific script, which the MS link above indicates is possible.

Has anyone managed to successfully change the timeout for CGI scripts?
