What causes the memory usage of IIS to increase. I had to restart the IIS service a few hours ago due to memory usage. When I restarted it, the W3p service was using about 15,000KB of memory. Now, a couple of hours later, it is up to 51,200kb and rising.

Is this normal or have I got some serious problem somewhere?

That's not just IIS...W3WP.EXE is the IIS application ppol used by .Net web applications.

What application or applications are using your application pool? (View app pool settings from IIS admin)

But why did you restart it? Were there issues? My w3wp.exe can consume well over 800 MB of physical RAM without issue. Keeping in mind that this application is accessed by 200+ users concurrently.

We will need more info before we can tell you if what you're seeing is normal and how to fix it if it is not.
