Anyone know how I can install IIS Manager for Windows Server 2003. I only seem to have the snap in and I need to be able to set the default app pool to enable 32 bit applications.

I have installed iis 7 manager but its coming up with an error

Code:
Could not load file or assembly Microsoft.Web.Administration, version 7.0.0 .......

Any ideas?

There should be no need for you to install IIS 7 Manager, unless you are trying to manage a remote Windows Server 2008 system running IIS 7. Windows Server 2003 runs IIS 6 and already has the components for managing IIS (IIS 6 Manager) built-in. IIS Manager is an MMC snap-in which you stated you already have. What are the issues you are experiencing setting the application pools using the IIS 6 Manager snap-in?

My issue, how do I edit the application pool properties. I am running windows 7 on my laptop and the UI for iis is more 'icon' based and selecting an application pool, then choosing advanced settings gives me more options then windows server.

In windows server if I right click on an application pool i get Recycling, Performance, Health and Identity tabs. completely different from what I am used to managing it locally

I just thought there would be a more extensive IIS manager in windows server. seems to be limited with options

Yes, the management snap-in for Windows 7 is designed with IIS 7 as this is the version integrated with that OS. With new versions come new features, so you will notice that the IIS Manager is Windows 7 looks and feels different than the one on Windows Server 2003. To make the change you are after on Windows Server 2003 64-bit (configuring IIS to run 32-bit applications), you will need to use the adsutil.vbs IIS administration utility. Have a look at the following links for information on this configuration. The first link provides some good technical information that should be noted, while the second link provides the simple directions for using the adsutil.vbs utility to make the configuration change.
