I have a windows 2003 IIS server that is a live server. running 3 sites on it.
every once in a while for no reason IIS just stops comminucating to the SQL server database and the site just stop. I have to run IISRESET to reestablish comminucations to SQL. I have checked all over the event viewer yet there is nothing logged that would indecate a problem with IIS.

Any thoughts on what this could be or is this just a microsoft issue with no chance in hell for a fix?

thanks

This shouldn't be happening.

Check perfmon before you reset IIS. Check to see is there is a memory leak. Sounds like there are objects being created that aren't being destroyed correctly.

I checked the system performance on the IIS pid and it is running at a normal proccess of anywhere between 2 to 7% cpu usage.
I am fairly confident that a memory leak is not the issue.

CPU usage doesn't indicate the amount of memory being consumed by a process. Check it again.
