I just installed w2k/IIS to use as an Intranet server. My server is not visible from the internet, Im not running DNS internally, but we do configure our workstations to use the company's Internet DNS servers. I had IIS running previously on an NT4 server and could get to the intranet web page by typing the machine name or the IP address of the IIS server. On my W2K/IIS server I have to enter the IP address. What do i have to do so that my intranet users can just enter the IIS Web name in their IE address instead of requiring the IP address.

I've looked everywhere but can not figure out where to go from here.

thanks

Well, everything mysteriously started working. I don't know what was going on. My server sat there for days.. then suddenly it works yesterday...

go figure....
