I just migrated our website from an apache server to our Win2K/IIS 5.0 server. On one of the pages there was a cgi form to be submitted by email, which I had to reconfigure to work with Frontpage server extensions. Instead of using cgi, I re-did the form using a frontpage submit button and properties. All worked well at first; it was submitting the form as desired. Then before wrapping it up, I got the bright idea to use the IIS 'Check Server Extensions' function and when prompted if I wanted it to tighten security on all webs, I naively replied "Yeah sure, why not? -- [click]" without realizing I might create a problem like this. Now I'm not sure if that was when it happened or if it was just around that time, but I've now been informed the submit button no longer works. I've tested it myself and there is no indication that it's doing anything at all. It does not go to the confirmation page or send an email. I've checked all the permissions, both NTFS and IIS, and see nothing that should prevent it from working. I removed and reinstalled the frontpage server extensions, stopped and restarted the website, replaced the form with a backup copy, tried the recalculate web command, and no luck. Without getting into the details of each permission, I've compared it to another working server and made sure everything is the same, but still it doesn't work. There are no log entries or events that give any clue either. So my question is, can someone tell me or direct me to a place where I can get a complete listing of the default permissions to be used in a website that uses frontpage server extensions? Alternatively, a tool or method of resetting to defaults so I can start over? Or last but not least, perhaps just a simple answer or observation of something I may have overlooked. Many thanks if you can.
