Just built a new server, an old box--dual 66 (gotta work with what you have)I'm getting a random error dialog box that says the instruction at 0x6862269f referenced memory at 0x682269f could not be read. The error will stop the web services, and usually I only have to restart them again.
Has anybody seen this before..and have a solution?
What are you doing to get this error? I mean is it truly random (in other words, nobody around doing anything, no scripts running, etc, etc)? One cause for this type of error is that you have a page file set on a disk with too much fragmentation. Try running a defrag program, wouldn't hurt :)
John Vogel
john@computerwiz.net
<a href=If you are interested in working on a very worthwhile Christian web project, please email me at
It is just a randon error. Some background. Basic IIS no smtp, nntp, just web sevices. Program files on c drive, inetpub on d drive. The only web sites that would be runnign are the default ones. The machine also has SQL 7.0 desktop edition and Visual Interdev 6.0..I have this combination on 2 other machines with no issues. (yet)
I wil ltry your defrag idea...

Let me know how it goes.
John Vogel
john@computerwiz.net
<a href=If you are interested in working on a very worthwhile Christian web project, please email me at
