We are currently running our PIX with only 1 problem. Our IIS machine is on the inside with a static mapping to an outside address. The same is true for our mailserver.

We can receive mail with no problems from outside sources, however we cannot send mail from our IIS server to our MAIL server. Is there something special I need to do to the PIX to allow this? Do I need to add a route??

Thanks for the advice,

Rick

HI.

You can either:

* Configure SMTP service on IIS to forward mails destined to your domain, directly to private addres of your mail server.

* Configure internal DNS server(s) with private address for the mail server instead of the public one. Then reboot IIS server to clear DNS cache.

* You can use ALIAS at the pix, but it is not a good idea, for several reasons.
Use the above suggestions instead which eliminate the problem at the application layer.
