It is to my understanding that you should be able to customize IIS server's asp error handling by modifying the IIS error page files. (There's a whole chapter on this in the big red wrox book "professional asp" )
However, error type 500:100 which is supposed to be the asp error type doesn't appear in my server's MMC custom-errors window. The other error types have "subtypes". For example, error type 403 is followed by 403:1, 403:2, etc. But for internal server errors (500) there's no subtype, just 500. Shouldn't I see an error type 500:100 in this list? Although you can modify the target file of a certain error type by changing its corresponding file in the

c:\WINNT\help\common
directory, I can't see that there's any way to &quot;add&quot; types to the IIS errors list. Is there something I'm not aware of here? Any suggestions? [sig]<p>--Will Duty<br><a href=mailto:wduty@radicalfringe.com>wduty@radicalfringe.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br> [/sig]

I am on IIS 5 so I don't know if this is different but this is what I located when I went looking at the custom errors tab in IIS Manger.

C:\WINNT\help\iisHelp\common\500-12.htm

Hope this helps. [sig]<p>Crystal<br><a href=mailto:crystals@genesis.sk.ca>crystals@genesis.sk.ca</a><br><a href= > </a><br>--------------------------------------------------<br>

I'm on IIS 4 so maybe that's the problem... [sig]<p>--Will Duty<br><a href=mailto:wduty@radicalfringe.com>wduty@radicalfringe.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br> [/sig]

You know I think that I just finished reading something that said that the custom errors for the 500:100 errors were new to IIS5 but I definitely could be wrong on that
(I can't remember where I read it to check on my sometimes faulty memory X-) ). [sig]<p>Crystal<br><a href=mailto:crystals@genesis.sk.ca>crystals@genesis.sk.ca</a><br><a href= > </a><br>--------------------------------------------------<br>
