Hi All,

I installed IIS on XP and when I tried to run the I get the following error:

HTTP 500 - Internal server error
Internet Explorer

I did research all over and found out that it is a common error, but no one is given a clear and step by step solutions.

I have already reinstalled the system. I am also running Norton Anti Virus on system.

I removed fire wall protection from the dial up, and the remote desktop connection works no problem.

Please help I am losing my mind.

Thanks

Sal

We're running IIS 5.0 (Windoz 2k) and I encountered the same error today.. but I was able to fix it by simply restarting IIS.

I doubt ur firewall would be the cause cuz if it was blocking access then u wouldn't even get a 500 error.

Did u try accessing ur page with ur local/external ip instead?

Try stopping the "ScriptBlocking Service" and then restart the You may need to set the "ScriptBlocking Service" set to start manually and reboot.
