Hi,

I am currently installing windows business server 2003 with Exchange server.
As i am new to this and need to host more than one website on this server, what i want to do it have the email server running so i can send and recieve emails correctly? How do i do that?
Also how would i set virtual server up in IIS 6.0, I know someone that has his ip and then :90 at the end of it to redirect it to a different on his webserver. Do i need to get a block of ips.

How many do i need for the email Server and do i need one for each different website i run on my server?

Many Thanks

I'll try to answer your question, but I don't use Business server so other will correct me if I am wrong.

From an IIS standpoint you can run multiple web-sites from a single server with a single IP Address. You would use Host Headers. You are also going to need to make changes in your DNS servers, public and/or private.

Example:
Two sites - site1.Mydomain.com and site2.domain.com.

DNS - Create A records for both sites pointing to the IP address of the web server -or- create CNAMEs for both sites pointing to the Web Server.

IIS - open the properties for each of the web sites and add the appropriate host header.
Example: From the Web Site Tab on the Site1 properties click the Advanced button. Add the host header of site1.mydomain.com. Do the same on Site2 web-site properties in IIS.

When a request comes in for one of the two site names, IIS will direct the request to the propert site.

Hope that helped....
