Im trying to set up OWA for my exchange server but during install it said i need IIS and ASP pages to be installed. so I downloaded the option pack from microsoft.com and installed. I got a few (what seemed like)windows installer specific error messages during the option pack install. Funnlily enough, the install stated that it had not been tested on NT4 sp4 or later and it may not work. ??. anyway. I proceeded to install OWA and it started to install fine until it tried to start the service which bought back an internal windows NT error 003 - the path cannot be found?? any ideas. Is it the case that IIS (or option pack) cannot be located on the same server as exchange (5.5 sp4)?? and will I have to set up a dedicated IIS server to use OWA.

All of the above can excist on the same server. Remember to reinstall servicepack 6a.
Regarding the errors you got I would suggest you reinstall the optionpack.Sometimes it does screw up on the install.

Hope this helps

Also, make sure you are current on your security patches. Reinstalling sounds like a good idea but make sure you have a good backup of your exchange server and that you can restore if need be. Anytime I make a change on one of our Exchange servers I am always leary of problems, not that they ever happen of course. Well, maybe thats not entirely true.

Vince.

in order to get owa running you must delete the directory with the failed install to get the reinstall to work.
