I am looking for any information I can find on IIS backup and recovery. I am told that you can only restore IIS5 to the same server. What happens if your server catches on fire? Any help would be appreciated.

IIS 5 Backup and Recovery

So long as you have a backup of your directory structure, you can recover to a new server using a Microsoft tool called MetaEdit2.2.
You just build a server restore your directories where your web files reside, then use the MetaEdit toll to restore the IIS structure. We did a disater Recovery of a Intranet with files and applications, etc and it works a treat.
