Hi,

I am fairly new to IIS, so apologies for being the newbie..!

I have IIS installed and running an Intranet site, no problems, however we have a 3rd party application which assisits the building of the intranet. It also has an advanced serach which by the looks of things is written in Java.
Via the Intranet builder, we can upload documents to the web server to a secure directory.
The advanced search can search all of the Intranet pages and within the documents.
When the search returns the results, the URL's are displayed as c:\Inetpub\ Dir\document.xls.

My Question, therefore, is:
Is there anything I can do in IIS that when a client clicks on the result URL, it will omit the 'C:\Inetpub\ and just use the second part of the URL - 'Website\Doc Dir\document.xls', allowing them to continue and view the document from the web server.

Thanks in advance..

I don't understand the question itself - client use IE?
Then they must use fqdn rather than path statements.

Hi,

Client as in 'desktop user'!
When a user from their machine uses Internet Explorer to click on the web link, can part of the displayed search result URL be omitted?

Hope this clarifies.

Thanks

Dan

Hi, Dan,

Yes, it's possible. You must to write an ISAPI filter. It can format the returned results. On MS there is a guides of how to write ISAPI filters.
