WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN A WEB PROJECT IN VISUAL INTERDEV AND THE CORRESPONDING WEB SITE ON IIS? I ANNOT MATCH THE WEB APPLICATIONS BETWEEN THE TWO? CANNOT SEE THE WEB SUTE ON IIS- WHY?

VI does some funny stuff via FrontPageServerExtensions when it creates a web site.

If a web already exists, then VI will not list it. BUT you can still go through the 'CREATE NEW WEB' wizard, but type in the name of an existing web and this will add all of the hidden FrontPage settings so that VI can 'see' it in the future.

As for IIS 5 (Win2000), this has a few more ASP functions than IIS 4 (NT) which will not be visible in VI. For example, the server.Transfer command can be used, but VI will not pop-up this command in its auto-complete listings. (Content Management)
