I have an NT Server machine running MS Exchange 4.0 ( upgrade imminent ) and IIS 4.0. I would like to be able to send emails through the web using ASP and it seems that CDONTS is one of the best ways to do this. However, I don't seem to have CDONTS installed. My ASP page gives an "Invalid Class String" error and I do not seem to have a CDONTS.DLL file on my server.

What do I need to install this and get it operational??

To use cdonts, you need the SMTP service from IIS
BUT this would mean that you would have to move your exchange server to another machin I guess Peter Van Eeckhoutte

peterve,

At the moment,it's not possible for me to move my exchange server to another machine ( although that will be an option in the future ). Is there any way that I can use Exchange to send emails from a web page running in IIS. Or just any other way that mails can be sent given my setup.

Nick

You could use that IIS SMTP service, and send the emails diretly to your Exchange server if you want to... Peter Van Eeckhoutte

Is there no way that I can get the web page to use the Exchange server to send the mails without moving either the web site or the exchange server off the current server?
