Greetings to all. I currently have job experiance or credentials in the IS field. I have an exam on 20 july for Lucent Certified [copper/voice/data] Network Cabling Specialist certification. I have been studying for my CCNA as well. I am pleased to say that I plan on passing the CCNA exam in Sept. I know how to trouble shoot/upgrade/maintain PC's both in soft and hardware aspects. Wanting to be a networking professional, I know the CCNA cert. can have a big impact.

Q.) After getting my CCNA, what should I persue in terms of certification, that can have the most impact on making me more employabe?

I was thinking of getting my MCP, and working all the way up to MCSE from there. Or, would I be better off looking into getting Novell's CNA?

FYI: My carreer goal is to be either a LAN Administrator, or a Networking Technician.

As a current MCSE, I might recommend keeping on the Cisco track and get the CCND to put yourself ahead of many other CCNAs. Then get the MCSE. I take my own CCND test next week so I will have first hand experience with it. In a sea of certs, you need that edge of being a bit better then the rest.

JMHO

Mike

Mike,

Perhaps you could enlighten me on the CCND cert, as I am not familiar with that particular one. ¿Are you, by chance, referring to one of the CCDA, CCDP, or CCNP certs?

Thanks,

Joe

Joseph Baugh
jbaugh@aepnet.com
<a href= & WAN/LAN consultants
_____)\_____ Fins to the left, Fins to the right _____/(______

joe-

in reference to YbNORMALS remark on the CCND, i would think it iz a fair assumption dat mr/ms normal wuz in fact, probably reffering to the CCDA/CCDP certz. Being on my 3rd, current and up to date Cisco book, I believe I have read a lil sumptin sumptin sumptin on EVERY Cisco cert that iz available. I dont rember reading anything on CCND.

in light of your taking a look at this thread, and assummming that you actually are a security &WAN/LAN consultant, if you could take a minute er 2 to answer MY question on what YOU think might be advisable for my certification route...
...i would sincerely apprecirate your time in doing so

respekt

skoobe

//LOL @ yer fins!!\\

My comment about CCND was a mistype on my part and not paying close attention to my typing. Sorry for the unintentional confusion.

Mike
