Hi all,

I am having a huge problem with a hijacker which has taken over my internet explorer. I am unable to get rid of it, or view web pages using explorer. I've run spybot, spy assassin, and ad-aware. None of those has been able to stop my home page from reverting to res://ihopn.dll/index.html\#96676.

I have even tried to manually delete the ihopn.dll from my system32 folder, and the next time I open a web page, its back. :(

Please help.

This is a newer coolwebsearch problem that reloads from a hidden dll. The dlls will vary from one system to the next.

These threads have a little bit of info:

You can search on the html96676 or homesearchassistant for other current efforts in removing this stuff. If you weren't running adaware in safe mode, I think I'd take a look at those comments and try that as a first step-It looks like adaware may have made some changes for this early this week.
