Has any done this? I'm being asked to, and have no idea how long it takes, how much out of service time there is, what the pit falls are, or even the exact NTP's to look at.

Any info and pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I didn't go to it, but it is here, and probably long and detailed.

553-3021-258 Standard 1.00 October 2003
Meridian 1 Option 81C/IGS upgrade to Option 81C CP PII/FNF . . . . 329

FYI - from this NTP

Meridian 1
Succession 1000M
Large System
Upgrade Procedures
Book 1 of 3
Document Number: 553-3021-258
Document Release: Standard 1.00
Date: October 2003

You need to add 30 minutes to a usual upgrade. You can prepare the fiber installation before upgrade starting. Remove IGS. Install FNF and connect fibers before starting PBX. The upgrade procedure is the same for everything else.

Good luck

You need to make sure you have a NTRB53aa clock controller first.Use the shortest fiber cables possible..all same length.Do a parralel reload to install software.Install FIJI's,it is not to hard but you might want to order an extra FIJI just incase, I did quite a few upgardes like this and had bad cards right from Nortel. It is in NTP 553-3021-258b2, on page 918.
