I have a formula calculation daily rates using hours inserted into the spreadsheet (ie Sum(C5*A5+F5*C5)). I have been asked to account for other hours using non numerical values for holiday/sickness. This calculation works to allocate these hours, but I cant get the initial formula about to ignore these non numerical values for the main calculation. Ive tried the (is(isnumber but this does not seem to work correctly.

Any help would be appreciated

You may consider to use N function that returns 0 for non-numeric arguments, otherwise argument.

Or you can write your own formula (in VBA) where you can detect the "Non Numerical Values" and deal with them.
What do you want to happen when you have a Non Numerical Values in either C, A, or F column?

There is a great need for a sarcasm font.
