I am using Crystal v14. I have a parameter field that asks the user to enter an Item No. The db field that contains the item no they are requesting has stripped dashes from the numbers but many times the user enters dashes. Is there a way to tell the parameter field to ignore dashes entered by the user?

Not directly, but you could put the prompt in a formula and apply the replace function to it. i.e., replace({?prompt},"/",""), then use that formula to filter on i.e., {field} = {@someformula}

Thank You for your help kray4660 this worked (after I realized that I needed to use "-" instead of "/"...duh) Sometimes the devil is in the details :)
