Hi,
I have problems with my lancard. After first reboot (hostname and IP-address were set) everthing is ok.
After /etc/shutdown -r -y 0 the lancard fails.
In the /etc/rc.log I have this message:

ERROR lan0 interface: ifconfig: no such interface
ERROR lan1 interface: ifconfig: no such interface
"/sbin/rc2.d/S008net.sd start" FAILED

But in /etc/lanscan everything is up. Im not an expert in HPUX, how can I stop this error.
Thanks for your help

Marle,

It sounds as if you have configurations setup for additional cards which are not installed.

I would fist run "ioscan -funC lan" this will show all lan hardware in the server.

Then, I would lookin your "/etc/rc.config.d/netconf" file
to see what cards are being configured.

I would then remove (or comment out) any referance to "lan0, lan1".

Be sure to make a copy of the file before you edit it.

Hope this helps!

Hi greenpau,
the ioscan show me 2 lancards.
All are configured in /etc/rc.config.d/netconf

But thanks for your help
