We are having trouble getting access to the IFS on our new WIN XP based machines: SCP on the ISeries is at V4R5, with Access Express 5.0...

Some of the users create lawson CSV files and place them on the IFS for transmission to outside parties.

I have put the /quser batch file in place, and the green screen (and Lawson LID) start up fine, but there is some sort of security access problem getting the PC to get to the IFS. Have deleted and re-loaded Access Express half a dozen times and still cannot get to the IFS.

Any One have an Idea???

Many Thanks in Advance....

We had a similar problem, getting acess to a unix server. We had to edit the security setting for each pc connecting to send an password as we attached to the machine, could this be the same thing??

Wellll: kinda sorta: we are able to attach the primary sessions for the green screen, and also for the Lawson Insight Desktop (LID) sessions OK: the problem is the access to the IFS area: In the old Client access this file access was handled by the IBM CA product. Now, under access Express the handling is done by windows.

Might it be that it requires a different login to get to the IFS?

Well... first of all, you need to setup and run NetServer. This is the server that handle all Windows requests. You can set that up through iSeries Navigator (sorry... Operations Navigator for you) It is located under Network | Servers | TCP/IP. Right click on NetServer and set it up. You may have to refer to the documentation on IBM's site to get it setup right.

Then in Windows NT and Windows 2000, you just navigate to your server, sign in with your as400 username and password, and you are in! In Windows XP, you sometimes also have to enter the domain or workgroup your server is in to get it to work.
