I've got a Sun Sparc workstation that won't boot anymore (was working OK last week & user swears he's done nothing to it - yeh, right!). It runs through rc2 as far as S72inetsvc, which then hangs on the
"/usr/sbin/ifconfig -auD netmask + broadcast +"
command. If I bypass this, it then hangs on the route add command
I've checked the LAN cable (swapped the connection wih the PC next door) & it works OK on the PC. Also, the workstation pops up messages to say it's detected the cable's missing.
Trying "ping otherhost" works OK, but "ping -s otherhost" fails.
ifconfig -a shows hme0 is up & configured with the right IP address.
netstat -r just hangs.
Any ideas?
TIA
Andrew
