I have a relatively simple database that records values (numeric) for several items at different locations on a daily basis (eg crosstab style).

I have a report that selects a particular day and prints a simple matrix of each location with its items and the number.

The report then gives totals for rows and columns. Many of the values are zero and rather than printing a "0" in every square of the matrix, I would like the "0" to be hidden.

Set the format property of the control for the total so that zero is displayed as a blank.

"#,###",," "

This will set the positive number as a whole number (with commas), the negative number to the same format (since there is nothing specified between the two commas), and a zero as a blank (" ").

Thanks for your reply. It pointed me in the right direction to do what I wanted. I actually used the following code:

#;#,,

Regards,
Nigel.
