You will need to configure DISA for this.
You will also need another VMIB prompt advising your callers to press certain keys.
Record your VMIB message to Message bin 002 (as 001 is in use for your night greeting), or whichever is vacant.
To configure:
Open PGM 140 and double click the first line to set DISA working on.
Select your mode that you want DISA to operate on (Day Mode), and the VMIB bin it is recorded in, (Bin 2)
If your VMIB prompt says something like "If you know the station number, enter it now. Otherwise, choose from this list: For Sales, press 1, for Accounts payable, press 2", you will need to configure the CCR menu in PGM 228.
Let us assume you have a Hunt group 620 for Sales calls, and group 621 for Accounts, and you want all other buttons to go back to the attendant at Station 100.
Enter this data in to PGM 228
Choose the Bin the you have the VMIB message on as your index number (2)
Enter 1 Destination as Hunt Group : 620
Enter 2 Destination as Hunt Group : 621
Enter 3 to 10 Destinations as Station : 100
Set Busy, Error and No Answer Destinations to Attendant.
Now open PGM 167 DISA Destinations. This is where the system will decide what to do with callers when the station(s) do not answer.
Set your options to:
Busy / Error / No Answer : Attendant (Ring Assign). This will use the CO Ring Assigment as it's default fail-over when your caller has run out of DISA Retry attempts (See system times to modify this)
DND Destination to Tone.
Re-route Busy / Error / No Answer to Attendant (Ring Assign)
Enable ALL VMIB usage prompts as well. If your caller dials a station in DND mode, it will say "Do Not Disturb, please try again"
If your caller dials a busy station it will say "Station is busy. Please try again"
If the station doesn't answer the inbound call, it will say "The station is not answering" It may also say "Your call will be transferred to the attendant", followed by the ringback tone as the call is transferred.
Finally, go to PGM 142, CO Attributes II, double click the first line serviced by DISA and then in the Update Window, enter the Last line serviced by DISA, and select one of the following options for DISA NO VMIM-C
> RING BACK TONE
> BUSY TONE
> GO ERR DEST
This, depending on what you choose, will instruct the system on how to handle callers when ALL VMIB channels are in use.
A VMIBE card from memory can only handle 4 channels at once, so only 4 lines can be active through DISA, or 4 people listening to VMIB messages, or what have you.
The system will need to know what to do with callers coming in on a DISA line when all the VMIB channels are busy.
RING BACK TONE will provide a ringing tone to your caller until a channel comes free.
BUSY TONE will give your caller a Busy Tone signalling all lines busy
GO ERR DEST will allow the system to re-route your caller to the Error Destination that has been set in PGM 167 (Which would have been Attendant (Ring Assign) - follows default CO Ring Assingment in PGM 144).
I would suggest you use GO ERR DEST as that will allow your caller to be answered by someone in a timely manner, without them holding too long if all the VMIB channels are in use.
