I've searched for all kinds of code that would kill winword.exe if it happens to running in the background. However they seem grossly complicated and I can't get them to work properly . I was looking at the idea of identifying via a process search but I'm exasperated as I'm sure there must be a simplier way.

is there an easy way to kill winword.exe in vb ? I just need to kill it so it doesn't interfere with my merging process.

thanks

I think the big question is how are you coding for the merge because it really shouldn't matter that Winword.exe is already running. Are you getting an error, or what?
