on one of our linux servers, for some reason vmwaretools was not running, possibly not installed correctly. after installing/starting, is a reboot necessary, the reason I ask is we have an app on there that is getting hammered iowait and I am wondering if this could be part of the issue.

there is a lot of wait time for the cpu/mem seen in the mpstat command.

It depends on the flavour of Linux as to whether you need to reboot it, but you do need to restart the machine when installing on the Windows platform.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.
