have a software firewall running on the email server thats behind the firewall???

Someone has stated to put all the rules on the pix, and you wont need a software firewall such as iptables on linux.

HI.

I agree, but you must still implement other important protection procedures:

* Excelent backup procedure.
* Anti virus protection and blocking email attachments like EXE and many other (even if AV does not detect a virus).
* Patching all servers with latest service packs and patches.
* etc...
