best way to clean up all cross connects (riser involved)
 
LD 20, LUVU type TNB. Go to each TN and left the crossconnect and snip off the very end so it is smooth.

Tug a little and pull them off pair by pair.

Pull too fast and you will burn insulation off of the in-use cross connect.

Silicone spray - pure - no petroleum sprays - if you have super dense areas or corners to turn.

sounds like your on the right track. best way to clean up riser cables is a fiber remote the the move command
