4. modem -> utp -> switch -> flat -> computer

Try running winipcfg: you wait and wait and wait...

Help!

Thanks

Do you have the utp connected to the mdix port of the switch, or are they all auto?

Hi, jeremybarker

The Lantech Palm Switch 500
has 5 auto-sensing ports (Auto MDI/MDIX),
anyway the way I connected the parts is:
modem -> connecting cable -> port1

Thanks

not sure this will help but sounds like your utp and your flat are not made the same it will work with either but not both you need to check the sequence of the cable wires

not saying this is the problem but you might look into it
