I have a table with the number of torandoes in each month. At the bottom of the table there is the average for the number of tornadoes for that month. I need to have the month be red if the average is over 100 or equal to 100 and need the month to be in black if the average is less than 100. How do I use the IF function and Conditional formatting to do this?

Hi,

Select ALL the cells that you want formatted, starting with the upper most left hand cell.

Format > Conditional Formatting.

Select Formula is:

In the Textbox for the formula, select the cell for the top row, that has the VALUE for that month.

Use the F4 key to TOGGLE to make the reference Absolute to the COLUMN and Relative to the ROW, for instance $A2.

Enter >=100 to finish the formula, which may look something like =$A2>=100

Set your RED font format and then finish.

Skip,
